There is only a month left before Mid-Autumn Festival which falls on 24th of September this year. People are starting to look for mooncake in the market now. While there are many choices in the market, everyone of us has different taste buds. If you are looking to send some mooncake to your customers or friends, not only you have to look for presentable packaging, you should also find something that they like.
Before you look further, here are some points to note:

Type of mooncake
There are different types of mooncake in the market as of now. However, there are only about 5 types of mooncake in general.
- Traditional Mooncake
- Shanghai Mooncake
- Snowskin Mooncake
- Mixed Nuts Mooncake
- Agar-agar (Jelly) Mooncake
Flavour
Over the years, mooncake manufacturer has been squeezing their brain juice to come up with something new and exciting which obviously benefits picky customers. For example, one of the best sellers is Durian flavour mooncake which can be sold up to a staggering RM200 per box. There is no surprise though as Malaysian are known to craze for Durian and one would spend thousands of Ringgit every year to stuff their belly with Musang King.
Other than the usual pure lotus paste, here are some other paste you can find in the market right now. Of course there are a lot more.
When you are looking for specific mooncake flavour, make sure you know the specialty of each brand. Generally, people prefer less sweetening flavour. Therefore, green tea flavour mooncake has been quite popular among consumers right now.
A little something to share:
While mooncake vendors also happened to be tea manufacturer, there are plenty of mooncakes infused with tea flavour. Most paste or fillings in the mooncake are lotus paste and sometimes tend to be a little sweet. So some people may prefer to buy something not as sweet like tea flavour. However do take note that some mooncakes mixed tea into the paste whilst some mixed into the skin (like Purple Cane). If you prefer something less sweetening on the inside, you should ask the sales representative for any recommendation.
Packaging
